
As cliche as it may be when it come to ballparks, I still hope that “if San Jose builds it, the Oakland A’s will come”. The plans to move the A’s to Fremont fell apart last month (thanks Fremont residents!), and my hometown of San Jose might have a legitimate shot at bringing the team to the South Bay.
A lot still needs to happen before San Jose can even put together an official proposal (convincing Wolff, resolving MLB territorial rights, etc), so the latest buzz might all be for nothing.
But I’ll keep reading the Mercury News and continue dreaming of the day when I’ll take the short VTA light rail ride to Cisco Field near downtown SJ, find my box seats, take a sip of my $12 Corona, and enjoy a day of A’s baseball in the city I call home.
